There are many many different safety related applications that DualGlo can be used for because of its 24 hour visibility.

Shown to the right is a whistle for use with life jackets, produced in the mandatory emergency orange daytime colour and enhanced with DualGlo for night visibility.

The tape and sign shown below has been produced with DualGlo materials and combine the ascetics of a white daytime colour with night time glow.

Chubb UK Case Study

Chubb Fire, which is the UK's leading fire protection company with a 70% UK market share for fire extinguishers, has launched a product called Pinpoint. The company has teamed up with DualGlo to produce a photo-luminescent extinguisher pin and OK indicator that can be both fitted during manufacture and retro-fitted during maintenance to the handles of all of Chubb's fire extinguishers (see photos below).

As Gwyn Ewens, Chubb's Fire Product Manager points out:

"DualGlo’s technology has enabled Chubb to overcome the problem of locating fire extinguishers in poorly lit venues, such as restaurants and nightclubs, when minutes lost in finding an extinguisher can mean the difference between life and death.

Being able to use DualGlo outside removed any malfunction liabilities and opened up additional area possibilities such as garage forecourts.

Traditional glow in the dark plastic had a very limited glow time and tended to fade within a couple of hours of being charged, which was of little use in dark venues. DualGlo has advanced the way in which Chubb can now use photo-luminescence. A single charge of light for just 10 minutes enables the pin to glow for up to 20 hours."

Chubb expects strong demand for this product, especially since it can be easily retrofitted to existing extinguishers. It has now been introduced as standard on its entire portable extinguisher range.
