World leaders in coloured photoluminescence

Ingredients - Background

Since 1999 DualGlo has been developing ‘glow-in-the dark’ materials with the necessary properties to be incorporated into a wide range of products. To be recharged the material simply needs to be left near a light source for 10 minutes. (Note: This recharge period can be reduced for a stronger light source, such as direct sunlight).

The material was designed and created to have excellent colour definition, and is available in pink, green, blue, orange, yellow, purple and in two pure whites (one that glows blue and one that glows green).

Traditionally, glow in the dark materials have been of limited interest to industry, as they tended to be the same washed out green colour, only glowing for short periods and could not be used in many plastics.

By contrast, the DualGlo patented material is a far more versatile product. For example, it can be incorporated into plastics by using a unique master batch system.

It can also be incorporated into other materials, such as paint, powder coatings, synthetic materials (i.e. for textile applications, such as clothing) and silicone rubber

Moulding processes: both injection and blow methods are suitable, but please note our standard mix for blow is qualified to a wall thickness not to be below 100 microns. We can produce a custom mix that will work below this level.

Resins: DualGlo white will work with most polymers including polyolefin [PE, HDPE]; but the non-white coloured mixes perform better with engineering grades and most are compatible, including PP, PET, ABS, PA, PC ,PC-ABS and Acrylic.

Within the “touchy feely” plastic types [TPE's / TPO's] DualGlo can work with a few - although they tend to be the slightly stiffer variations thereof.
